First and foremost, I am 100% inclusive. ALL (good) HUMANS WELCOME and their pet animal companions as well, of course. LGBTQ+ weddings and couples, BIPOC, and immigrants are welcome. I’ve included this page to let you know how I work as a photographer. Whether you've worked with other photographers or not, this information is extremely helpful when hiring a photographer, especially for your wedding. You're going to be spending many hours with me so let's make sure you know the ins and outs. I want you to have a great experience!

Style & Personality

My go to phrase is that there's a photographer for everyone. My photographing and posing style will affect how the wedding day or session goes and I want you to know ahead of time how I personally work.

Documentary or Hands On?

I like to be flexible in that I get both posed or gently directed photos as well as purely candid documentary style photos with some prompts here and there and possibly some music. Of course it depends on the amount of time I have for portraits, but with enough time not only can I get these types of photos, but also very creative or unexpected images. I truly believe everyone is unique deserves a tailored experience.

I'm not 100% documentary or 100% hands on because I believe it’s beautiful blend of so many moments you have to be flexible. I will say that if you're looking for a lot of posed, smiling at the camera photos or having your dress look perfect in every single image, I'm not the photographer for you. I love a variety of posed and unposed photos, I especially love laughter and creating movement.

Build trust &
Create Art

  • I got into photography because of the ability to freeze time. I know most people say this, but I didn't fully understand the importance of this until I lost my mom in 2011. Looking through photos was one of the only ways I could cope with what happened. I care about everyone that emails me whether they book or not, I know you all deserve to have an awesome photographer. While I love photographing fun moments between you guys as a couple, family and other group photos are extremely important as well. I don't want any part of the day to be just "getting it done" I want the entire day to be about you and your loved ones creating moments together. If we plan the timeline correctly the family photos will be a time to hang out with family as well as document everyone as they were that day.

  • Building a relationship is so important with photography which is why I talk about it all over my site. I will be a part of your life, especially if you're booking me for the wedding day, and I want everyone to have a damn good time! This means trusting me fully and being comfortable with my style of photography. I choose to do weddings and work with people with boudoir photography and small businesses with branding photography because I love it, more than anything else. It gives me energy and life when I capture real reactions. I actually get a high from it!

  • It's totally normal to feel a bit awkward in the beginning especially if you've never been professionally photographed, but after about 10 minutes that feeling should subside (if I’m doing my job correctly). Once you loosen up, realize I'm a tiny 5' unintimidating goofball, the fun begins! I get to know you more if we do an engagement session or meet in person, but it's definitely not required. Once you're comfortable, with time and confidence (all around), we can get really creative and capture images that show your uniqueness.

  • I say this all the time, but I'm here to help whether it's photography related or not. If you're planning a wedding or a session from long distance or just have no idea where to begin, let me know! No matter what style you're going for, I have tons of resources. Your experience should be fun and relatively stress free (or as stress free as possible). I genuine care and want to help.

  • Every client and every couple are different usually in many ways which I absolutely love! Diversity is the richness of life. Due to this, I believe in customizing a fully tailored experience for everyone. I don’t edit every session or every wedding exactly the same. Your color palette and style will influence your photography experience with me.

PLANNING

Planning & timelines come next. You will get a questionnaire 2 months out from your wedding day that will help me with lots of useful info such as family photos, timing of events, etc. From this I will work with your planner and put together a custom photo (& video) timelime so the day runs as smooth as melting butter on warm pancakes. Meaning, no stress, all celebration.

“They say your wedding day goes by in such a flash that you’re lucky if you even get a piece of your own cake. I say that’s crazy. I say, let them eat cake. Margaret Thatcher said that about marriage. Smart broad.”
