The Ultimate Guide to Wedding Venues in Tampa Bay
By a wedding photographer that has been working in the area for 15+ years.
Tampa Bay is seriously underrated when it comes to wedding venues. We have lush tropical gardens dripping with magic, grand historic hotels, secret estates tucked behind bending (or breaking - see Mill Pond Estate) oak trees, art museums, immersive galleries, and spaces so unique your guests will be talking about your wedding for years.
Whether you're nontraditional alternative nearlyweds or a chandelier and champagne tower couple, this list has something that's going to make you stop scrolling and start planning. Here are some of the most breathtaking wedding venues across Tampa and St. Pete, in my humble opinion as a wedding photographer in the area for the last 15+ years.
Also, just a note, this will be an evolving list. New venues pop up all the time and will be added… if I like them.

Questions about a specific venue?
ONE. St. Petersburg · Botanical Garden
SUNKEN GARDENS
A lot of people recognize my photos from Sunken Gardens because I’ve photographed many weddings here, and it’s one of my most booked venues. If a garden could cast a spell, it would look exactly like Sunken Gardens. St. Pete's oldest living museum, over 100 years old, is a tropical paradise tucked right in the heart of the city. Towering exotic plants, cascading waterfalls, vibrant flowering vines, and yes, actual flamingos make this a dream backdrop that practically decorates itself.
Ceremony spaces include the romantic Wedding Lawn, the North Lawn, and the shaded Oak Pavilion. Evening receptions under a tent (my preference is the clear tent) on the Wedding Lawn feels like stepping into another world entirely. Super magical! The oak pavilion area during golden hour is the place to be!
If you stop in for a tour, take a peek at some of the wall art and you’ll see some of yours truly’s work up there!
Perfect for: Nature-loving, plant parent couples who want lush tropical magic without a massive décor budget. The gardens do the heavy lifting for you.
TWO. Ybor City, Tampa · Historic Hotel
HOTEL HAYA
Old world elegance meets modern Tampa energy at Hotel Haya, nestled in the historic heart of Ybor City. Ybor generally is one of my f avorite parts of living in Tampa. See a recent wedding I did there, Kristy & Tai. Yes, I celebrated my 21st birthday at The Castle and yes, I went to Czar (the nightclub that Hotel Haya used to be). I also love Ybor because of its rich history. This venue has that and hits differently with layered history of Ybor's cigar-rolling, Cuban-influenced past wrapped in a beautifully upscale, contemporary package. Think warm lighting, gorgeous architectural details, and an aesthetic that feels both intimate and grand.
Listen, the rooms are gorgeous, I’ve heard the drinks are amazing 😏 and the decor in the restaurant is incredible, but one of my favorite places to go for photos when photographing a wedding at Hotel Haya is in the STREET! Yes, get that real Ybor feel to your images with the trolley running behind you and the classic cobblestone roads, all during sunset.
If you want your wedding to have serious style and a story behind it, Hotel Haya delivers. Your out-of-town guests will absolutely love experiencing Ybor City as part of the celebration.
Perfect for: Couples who love culture, history, and that moody, romantic aesthetic. Also: amazing late-night dining and cocktail options nearby.
THREE. Tampa Bay Area · Garden Estate
HARDEMAN’S SECRET GARDEN
The name alone should tell you everything you need to know. Hardeman's Secret Garden is straight out of a fairy tale. The kind of place where you half expect woodland creatures to emerge from the trees to be part of your celebration. Dreamy, whimsical, and completely storybook, this garden venue wraps you in greenery and romance from the moment you arrive. Being part Irish, this place spoke to me. Yes I believe in fae, do you even have to ask?
I really enjoy their reception area which feels like one of those clear tents with the lights plus all the hanging plants, so stunning! One of my favorite spots for some romantic photos with couples is near the creek and cypress trees and the Japanese garden as seen above.
This is a venue where your photos will look like they belong in a film. Every corner is enchanting, every backdrop is lush, and the whole atmosphere whispers "happily ever after."
Perfect for: The romantic at heart who has always dreamed of a wedding that feels like it belongs in a novel.
FOUR. Downtown Tampa · Editorial & Upscale
OXFORD EXCHANGE
You know that feeling when you walk into a space and immediately think, "I want to get married here" or for me “I want to live here.” That's Oxford Exchange. With its soaring ceilings, warm wood accents, abundant natural light, and distinctly editorial London-meets-Florida atmosphere, this venue is a photographer's dream and a couple's playground in equal measure.
I remember when I did my first wedding at Oxford Exchange many years ago, I thought I was the luckiest new Tampa wedding photographer ever! I fan girled over the gray brick walls and grand wood stairway, plus the atrium area with the ceiling windows! This place is a photographer’s dream!
The best part? It barely needs a thing. Some florals, some candlelight (my favorite), your people and it's stunning. Oxford Exchange has that rare quality where the space itself is the eye catching decor.
Pro tip: Seriously consider doing a first look because all of their ceremonies happen after sunset. To take advantage of all the natural light and have photos of you two together and with your wedding party you would have to do a first look.
Perfect for: The style-forward couple who wants upscale, editorial elegance. Bonus: your guests will love the attached restaurant and bookshop.
FIVE. Tampa Bay Area · Secret Garden Estate
THE SECRET GARDEN AT PARADISE SPRING
Paradise Spring lives up to every single word of its name, although I have not seen a spring here yet. This is a breathtaking property, lush, sprawling, and full of the kind of natural beauty that Florida offers in some of its untouched parks. Stunning pool and fountains, gorgeous greenery, and an intimate garden setting make this venue feel like an absolute hidden gem from a photographer’s perspective.
The couples I’ve photographed here rave about the property's expansiveness and ability to create many scenes in one place. The particular couple I’m featuring here, Alyssa & Bre, were able to have their ceremony in one space, the entire very large home for staying overnight and getting ready day of, the pool area for cocktail hour (then later silent disco after hours), they also had stilt walkers, fire blowers, put put golf, so much room for activities! This is one of those venues you discover and immediately wonder how it isn't more famous.
Perfect for: Couples who want a lush, private garden setting with a luxurious house to use like an air bnb for the wedding weekend. Plus, there’s a pool!
SIX. Tampa Bay Area · Farm Estate
MILL POND ESTATE
Similar energy to Paradise Spring, but Mill Pond Estate turns the dial up even further when it comes to unique photo locations. We're talking rolling grounds, stunning natural settings, AND highland cows. Yes, fluffy, photogenic, absolutely iconic highland cows, along with some other types of fur friends (I think I spotted a pig last time I was there!).
Beyond the fur friends, and believe me they almost stole the show, the place is sort of enchanting like a fable that could only be told in a rural area in Florida. However, it looks pretty rural but a huge plus is it is only a 20-30 minute drive from Tampa!
This is a venue for the couple who wants their wedding gallery to be one-of-a-kind. The variety of backdrops here is unmatched, from the massive broken oak featured in the first photo to the picturesque courtyard & greenhouse, hanging moss on the oaks, and that old Florida feel when things were wild here.
Perfect for: Wild nature & animal loving couples who want a gorgeous estate experience + some of the most unique wedding photos in Tampa Bay.
SEVEN. St. Pete Beach · Iconic Vintage Luxury Hotel
DON CESAR
The Don Cesar Hotel or as we know it the “Pink Palace" is one of the most iconic buildings on the entire Gulf Coast — and honestly, one of the most iconic wedding venues in all of Florida. This gorgeous, Moorish-inspired pink castle sits right on St. Pete Beach, offering sweeping views of the Gulf, warm ocean breezes, and an atmosphere of genuine grandeur that has to be experienced in person.
Getting married at the Don CeSar is a statement. It says: we wanted the best, the most beautiful, the most unforgettable (possibly one of the most expensive) and we got it. The combination of beachside luxury, historic architecture, and impeccable service makes this a bucket-list venue for good reason. If your budget doesn’t fit this as a venue, you can always just get ready there and enjoy it for yourselves.
Even the lobby is a gorgeous spot for photos at Don Cesar. I know from personal experience though, if you’re not getting ready there, you need a very expensive permit to do any photos on the property if not in your private room.
Perfect for: Couples who want full-on luxury, a legendary Florida backdrop, and a venue that every single guest will be wowed by. This one's a showstopper.
EIGHT. Downtown St. Pete · Historic Grand Hotel
The vinoy
If the Don CeSar is the queen of the beach, The Vinoy is the queen of downtown St. Pete. This magnificent historic hotel brings old Florida glamour together with impeccable modern hospitality, all just steps from the waterfront. The architecture is stunning, the ballrooms are grand, and the overall experience is the kind of elevated that makes everyone feel like a VIP.
The Vinoy is also ideal for guests who want to stay right at the venue, the location in the heart of St. Pete means dinner, drinks, and nightlife are all within easy reach after the reception. Even if you’re not getting married at The Vinoy, it’s a great place to get ready before your wedding and have a first look… with your dog!
Also, don’t forget they also have the Sunset Ballroom (see photo below), an off site reception venue owned by The Vinoy. It’s absolutely stunning and located on Snell Isle which is such a cool little spot in St. Pete. I love taking golden hour photos on the Snell Isle Bridge.
Perfect for: The couple who wants timeless, classic elegance in a central location. A St. Pete institution that never goes out of style.
NINE. Tampa Bay Area · Architectural Wonder
The Spiral Staircase
Some venues make you gasp the moment you walk through the door, The Spiral Staircase is absolutely one of them. Awe-inspiring and breathtaking, this venue is built around architectural drama that photographs unlike anything else in the Tampa Bay area. I haven’t had the pleasure of photographing a wedding here yet because the venue is so new, but I did a tour recently and canNOT wait to photograph a wedding there! This is my way of manifesting booking a wedding there. Fun fact, they are also a women’s club and provide a co-working space for women as well as child care. Such a plus!
If you want a venue that every corner was well thought for aesthetics, genuinely jaw-dropping, that your guests will photograph from every angle, and that will make your wedding portraits look like they belong in an architecture magazine, this is the one. So many fun colors and textures, wall paper and decor, little secret rooms. Can you tell I love old buildings and interior design? That’s what I’d be doing if I wasn’t a photographer. There's nothing quite like this venue in Tampa Bay.
Perfect for: Couples who want maximum visual impact and photos that stop people mid-scroll. It's architectural art as a wedding backdrop.
TEN. Downtown Tampa · Waterfront Museum Venue
TAMPA MUSEUM OF ART
Perched on the edge of the Hillsborough River with the glittering downtown Tampa skyline as your backdrop, the Tampa Museum of Art is pure drama in the best possible way. The ultra-modern glass atrium floods every space with light, and the iconic silhouette of the University of Tampa's minarets across the water makes for ceremony photos that are genuinely jaw-dropping. It's the kind of venue that feels grand and intimate all at once, which is a very rare thing.
Whether you're hosting a ceremony on the outdoor terrace overlooking the river or a reception inside the sleek contemporary galleries, every single frame is going to look like it belongs in a magazine. I have photographed some of the most creative weddings at this museum, and I think that’s suiting considering it’s an art museum. My favorite is taking photos on the second floor balcony overlooking the river and sunset, but also, sometimes there are really incredible art installations up there too that elevate your photos.
Perfect for: The artsy couple who wants waterfront Tampa magic with modern architectural energy and a backdrop that absolutely no other venue in the city can replicate.
ELEVEN. Downtown St. Pete · Classic Museum Venue
ST. PETE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS
Where the Tampa Museum of Art gives you modern drama, the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Pete gives you something altogether different, refined, classical, and quietly breathtaking. Surrounded by rotating world-class art collections and bathed in the kind of elegant atmosphere that makes everyone stand a little taller, this venue is for couples who want their wedding to feel cultured, intentional, and deeply beautiful.
The banyan tree outside is especially stunning for ceremonies, and the reception spaces inside feel like a private gallery opening just for you and your people. Well it actually is! Your guests get to enjoy the museum during cocktail hour. I also personally enjoy having the freedom of indoors and outdoors. If the weather is nice we can do some stunning photos in Straub Park.
Perfect for: The artsy couple who wants classic sophistication and a St. Pete venue with genuine soul and substance.
TWELVE. St. Pete · Immersive Art Experience
FLORIDARAMA
Are you weird (like me)? This one is for the couples who looked at every traditional venue and thought "none of these are us." FloridaRAMA is Tampa Bay's most out-of-this-world wedding venue, an immersive art gallery in St. Pete's Warehouse Arts District featuring glowing installations, vibrant murals, and interactive rooms that create a photo-ready backdrop at every single turn. This is one of my favorite places ever, alongside the Fairgrounds Gallery.
Think Meow Wolf meets Florida fever dream. Neon lights, sculptural installations, digital interactions, and a vibe so electric it practically generates its own dance floor energy. Every single photo will look completely unlike anything anyone has ever seen at a wedding before AND your guests will never get bored! I feel extremely lucky I was able to photograph Jenna and Drew’s wedding there this year.
Perfect for: The wildly creative couple who wants something truly unlike anything else. Your guests will literally not stop talking about it.
THIRTEEN. Dunedin · Historic Waterfront Hotel
FEnway Hotel
Dunedin's most beloved landmark has been hosting unforgettable celebrations since 1924 and The Fenway Hotel somehow just keeps getting better. Built in the Jazz Age and still dripping in that creative, spontaneous energy, this historic waterfront gem sits right on the Gulf Coast with manicured grounds, a grand façade perfect for front lawn ceremonies, and a Caladesi Ballroom with big windows and an airy attached terrace that opens up to the most beautiful light.
The flow here is seamless - getting ready in one of their beautiful window-lit rooms, vows on the lawn, cocktail hour on the terrace, dinner and dancing in the ballroom, then move the whole party upstairs to the Hi-Fi Rooftop Bar (formerly Dunedin's first radio station, because of course it was). And since it's a full hotel, your guests never have to leave. They can grab a bike, hop the Jolley Trolley into downtown Dunedin, and wake up the next morning still soaking in the celebration. It's a full wedding weekend experience, not just a venue.
Expert tip, DEFINITELY get photos at the cross walk and golden hour at the water. It’s definitely worth it! Because then on your way back to the Fenway, you can get photos with the entire hotel in the backgroudn.
Perfect for: Nearlyweds who want historic charm, waterfront beauty, and a venue with a personality all its own. Dunedin is the kind of town that makes out-of-towners immediately start googling "how do I move here" — which is exactly the kind of impression you want your wedding to make.
FOURTEEN. St. Pete · Industrial Distillery Venue
urban stillhouse
There's moody, and then there's Urban Stillhouse moody and it is something else. Tucked in St. Pete's Warehouse Arts District, this 16,000 sq ft working distillery and restaurant is the definition of a venue that does all the heavy lifting for you. Soaring ceilings, exposed brick, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, a giant copper still, and a lantern-lit staircase that will make your photographer do a little happy dance.
This is a venue where the vibe is already dialed in before a single candle is lit. Add in an award-winning executive chef, a custom cocktail program featuring their own House Soldier Bourbon, and a team that genuinely loves weddings — and you've got a night your guests will be talking about for years.
Pro tip: Always have a second photographer because this venue is a bit tricky. Have one photographer at the stairwell for processional and then go upstairs to get a view from above.
Perfect for: The nearlywed duo who wants drama, depth, incredible food, and photos that look like nothing else on their Instagram feed. Speakeasy energy meets elevated Tampa Bay celebration.
FIFTEEN. Lutz · Magical Estate
soire estate
Nestled in Lutz just north of Tampa, Soire Estate is one of those magical places that feels like it exists in a slightly more beautiful version of our world. Ten lush acres of grand oaks, gardens, two scenic lakes, and a butterfly garden make this property feel like a true escape from the city — even though you're only minutes away from everything. Their newer building addition has taken the whole venue to a completely new level, and the food from SaltBlock Hospitality is genuinely some of the best wedding food I've had at any venue.
Golden hour here is absolutely stunning. The field and courtyard light up in a way that makes every photo feel effortless and cinematic — it's the kind of light photographers dream about.
Pro tip: The getting ready areas are on the cozier side, so if you have a larger wedding party, it may be worth getting ready off site and arriving ready to go. Totally worth the extra coordination for the payoff this venue delivers.
Perfect for: Couples who want a lush, magical estate experience with incredible food, dreamy golden hour photos, and a venue that genuinely feels like a hidden gem, but isn’t too far from Tampa.
SIXTEEN. Tarpon Springs · Gallery & Architecture
The whitehurst gallery
The Whitehurst Gallery is one of those venues I discovered and immediately added to my personal wish list. Tucked away on five acres in Tarpon Springs, this stunning neoclassical building was inspired by the Jefferson Memorial and it shows - bold columns, a domed roof, and inside, a curved library spanning the entire second floor balcony with a domed ceiling that mirrors the Capitol building in Washington, DC. Marble statues, antique artwork, and over 10,000 books lining the walls round out a space that feels genuinely one of a kind.
I haven't had the privilege of photographing a wedding here yet, but as a photographer I can already see exactly what this venue would do for a gallery. The architecture alone creates drama and depth in every direction, and that library? It would photograph unlike anything else in Tampa Bay.
If you're getting married at the Whitehurst Gallery, please reach out. I would love nothing more than to be there with my cameras!
Perfect for: The bookish, the curious, and the couple who wants a venue with genuine architectural soul. Intimate, grand, and completely unlike anything else in the area.
